The art of applying strip lashes like a pro
Many of us love the look of wearing false eyelashes but have yet to master the art of applying false eyelashes like a pro. When applying lashes I’m sure many of us have ended with them stuck to our faces, glue all over the eyelid and the dreaded fall off half way through the night. Here we take a look at the art of applying false lashes like a pro.
- Prepare what you need – Ensure you have your mirror, tweezers, lashes and adhesive all to hand and easily accessible.
- Trim the edge of the eyelash to fit your eye – Measure the strip against your actual eyelid and trim the excess so the lash doesn’t overhang.
- Apply the glue – Apply the glue to the lash carefully and sparingly. Apply and leave for around 30 seconds. A tip is to bend the ends to meet during this 30 seconds which will distribute the glue right to the ends.
- Look down into the mirror not straight ahead – Place the mirror under your face and look down, this allows the eyelid to extend this allows you to see exactly where to place the strip. Don’t close your eyes while applying the lash. Using tweezers helps.
- Use eyeliner to hide the band – This really is a pro tip use a liquid eyeliner across the band of the lash will camouflage this really well to make it less obvious you are wearing lashes.
By following these steps your strip lashes should last you all night. Make sure that you remove at the end of the night and cleanse throughout. Ensure that you store correctly and your strip lashes can be reused.
